When I was mod of an internet community of fellow professionals I assented to the banning of a colleague who wasn't accused of anything that I found fault with but that was almost like something bad, which weirded people out. The person defended themselves in great detail when we asked them about it, going into very personal information, with trustworthy witnesses - nobody at any point, either accuser or accused, made any claim of behaviour that warranted this person being punished in any way IMO. But I didn't stand firm enough against the other moderatorship, who just didn't want anything to do with this person. I was feeling very Ned Stark and almost proud of taking on the task of handing the colleague the bad news myself that they were being expelled, never telling them I had misgivings. At some point I will have to apologise to them...
